CFCC 2016 Sunshine Open Concludes with a Tie For 1st Place in the Premier Section!

With one of the top three turnouts at a hotel tournament in the club's long tournament history, CFCC hosted 152 competitive chess players, including 2 titled players, in the 2016 Sunshine Open tournament held at the Wyndham Orlando Resort on the weekend of June 10-12, 2016.

The club's National Tournament Director and long-time tournament organizer, Harvey Lerman, declared at the tournament on Sunday that the club was able to provide a 92.3% payout of the tournament prize fund that was based on 140 players.

With the U1200 scholastic section having a strong showing of 47 players that counted as half-entries towards the prize fund total, the strong overall turnout helped the club have one of its highest prize payouts in recent memory.
